《弟子规》中的“父母呼，应勿缓；父母命，行勿懒；父母教，须敬听；父母责，须顺承”对我启发很大。以前我总是对父母发脾气，不太听话，但自从理解了这段话的含义，我才深深明白自己的错误。父母给予我们生命，养育我们成长，我们应该怀有感恩之心，尊敬父母，这是我们首先应该做到的。

On the bookshelf by my bed, there are neatly arranged books of Chinese classics, such as "Three Character Classic", "Hundred Family Surnames", "Li Yundong Rhymes", "The Analects", "The Thirty-Six Strategies", "The Art of War", "Tang Poems", "Song Ci", "Journey to the West", "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", "Dream of the Red Chamber", and "Water Margin". These books are not only my favorite bedtime reading but also the beacons on my path of growth, serving as mentors and friends in my studies. They are like kind and亲切 tutors, teaching me to distinguish right from wrong and correct my bad habits, accompanying me as I grow strong.
The lines from "The弟子Rules" stating, "When parents call, do not delay; when parents command, do not be lazy; when parents teach, listen respectfully; when parents scold, accept with compliance," have greatly inspired me. I used to often lose my temper with my parents and was not very obedient, but after understanding the meaning of these lines, I deeply realized my mistakes. Our parents give us life and raise us to grow, so we should be grateful and respectful to them; this is what we should do first.
"Hundred Family Surnames" allowed me to understand the diversity of Chinese surnames, and I enthusiastically found out the surnames of my family members. My mother told me that many characters, when used as surnames, have different pronunciations. A surname is a symbol of a family and a part of the traditional Chinese culture. I learned so much new knowledge and felt very happy.
The sentences in "Li Yundong Rhymes" are read aloud smoothly and are very easy to remember, but I didn't quite understand the content. My mother patiently explained each word to me, saying, "In China's five thousand years of long culture, the most distinctive feature is these highly concise texts. A few sentences, or even a few characters, can form an article. This is the charm of classical Chinese literature." I listened attentively and from then on, I became even more fond of classical Chinese literature.
My mother once said that every book has a soul, and I say that every character has a soul. The texts passed down by our ancestors are imbued with their wisdom and talent, the most precious inheritance for our descendants. We should read and ponder them frequently, inherit the culture of our ancestors, and use the power of culture to urge ourselves to grow continuously.
